Happy New Year!

Joe my oldest was with his girlfriend and friends on new years eve and Adam went up town with friends, at 15 i wouldn't have allowed Joe to do that but Adam is another animal...he expects to be able to go and quite frankly i don't really know how i could stop him, He is very aware of his size and that he looks much older...so he was allowed to go as long as his phone was kept on and he kept me up dated about what he was doing.
Zak and i were left on our own, at some point around 8pm we decided and i don't remember how to go to Waterloo and see the fireworks.
I drove as far as the elephant, all the roads leading to waterloo were blocked so i parked there and we walked further on in. The atmosphere was happy and raucous, people shouting happy new year, drinking, laughing. We wandered along past the IMAX and around onto Waterloo bridge, it was about 9.30 still two and a half hours before midnight.
As we walked it started to rain and i had forgot an umbrella, we could hear music playing so went towards it, turned out to be a large speaker playing radio one and intermittently asking us to think how we were going to get home!
We stood for a good hour and watched as they lit up the wheel and then sent lazer beams into the clouds. We also stood and got wet....Zak after an hour decided it had seen enough and would rather be dry so we walked back to the car. By then no one was allowed onto the bridge and as we walked back around the IMAX there was a row of police horses standing prohibiting anyone from walking back to the bridge too.
Walking out of waterloo was like swimming against the tide with most people swarming up past waterloo tube towards us.
We decided to head to a party i had been invited too and arrived there 15 minutes before midnight and celebrated the new year with a group of friends and neighbours.
I was so glad i did it, i don't know whether i will be fit enough next year to go up and Zaki each year is getting older and more unwilling to spend time with me, moments that you have to take when you can because you relaly don't knwo if the opportunity will come again.

  3. Hi Hazel
Thanks I'm doing fine. When I read what you and others are having to deal with,my own stuff feels too straightforward to mention, but here goes;I had APr surgery in November(left with permanent colostomy)and have just finished my second cycle of Capecetabine.
Hazel,do you just type away,or do you revise what you have written?
My kids are 39,37,and a 29yr old son who is still at home (doing a Masters in Social Work).your house must be mad at times with three lads!
    Again
    Warmest regards

  4. Hi Mimi
I hardly think that your situation is straightforward, i do not come across as being ill with cancer at all, and i don't have a bag....i really admire those of you who have had to have one it is something i am possibly facing this year and something i still have to get my head around.
My house is absolutely like a mad house at times, boys cannot just sit still and invariably start wrestling and tustling with each other.....i now have a no physical contact ban in the living room.
As for my revision no i don't......but i come back read what i have written and run it through spell check as my typin gis appalling.....i have left that as an example!
